Remembering Adamu

━━

Our Cheetah
Born in 2013
Relocated to Three Valleys in 2020

Passed away January 2023

Remembering Adamu, who we had the privilege of caring for, for 2 and a half years. Adamu passed away earlier this year at the age of 10 years old. A sweet, sweet boy, who remains a special part of the Three Valleys family.

Adamu was born in April 2013, at Cheetah Experience, which has since relocated from Bloemfontein to Bela Bela in Limpopo. He developed meningitis as a cub which resulted in a slightly deformed curly tail. This, together with a squint made it almost impossible for him to hunt for his own food and thus not eligible for rewilding.

We welcomed Adamu as our first Sanctuary resident in 2020. He lived in a spacious enclosure, consisting of natural Eastern Cape shrubbery and two thatched-roof platforms. His loud purring and subtle meowing served as a sign of how truly happy he was, and how well he had adapted to his new environment.

Remembering Joshua

“Josh” the Lion
Born in 2011

Relocated to Three Valleys in 2021

Passed away May 2025

We buried Joshua our Lion King on a Wednesday in May 2025. For him Three Valleys became his forever home. Josh was born in captivity in the Eastern Cape on the 17th October 2011.

He was loved and admired since birth to the end of his days. For 13 years, 6 months and 26 days. To some of us he was “Your Highness”, to others the caring leader of the pride, and we are told, to those who witnessed his childhood, the goofy cuddly baby.

But to all the symbol of a true lion heart, countless times recovering against all odds. His roar filled Three Valleys and beyond, and still echoes in our hearts when we pass his final resting place.

Remembering Siyah

Our Caracal
Born in 2012

Relocated to Three Valleys in 2021

Passed away July 2024

Siyah lived for almost 12 years.
She was born in captivity in the Eastern Cape on the 14th August 2012 and passed away on the 12th July 2024.

The beautiful Siyah. She was tube-fed upon her arrival, after not eating following the death of her mate, where they lived. As such she spent many hours bonding with her carers and graced us with her wonderful charm for the remainder of her life.
