Adamu
Our Cheetah

"8 Year old Adamu will live out his golden years in our beautiful sanctuary... "
Adamu was born on the 18 of April 2013 at Cheetah Experience in Bloemfontein. He is currently 8 years old and he is well known for his very fluffy teddy bear face and super cute curly tail. Adamu was born with meningitis and that cause some deformities, such as his curly tail. Cheetahs use their tail for hunting and balance, changing direction on top speed and because Adamu does not have a normal functioning tail, unfortunately he won't be able to survive in the wild. Unfortunately Adamu would not be able to hunt normally like any other cheetah. This characteristic would cause him not to live long in the wild, affecting his hunting skills causing him to starve in the long run. Cheetah Experience has a breeding program, where they breed with cheetahs and relocate them into more natural habitat, to increase the population numbers of cheetahs all over. Unfortunately Admau can not be part of this breeding program because of his genetic gene, we don't want it to be passed down to other generations, causing them to struggle with hunting prey.. For this reason Adamu has been relocated from Cheetah Experience on 21 July 2020 to the Eastern Cape to live out his life with us, where he is taken good care of and loved. He has a lot of space to play in and as from the day he arrived, he has been purring non stop showing signs of how truly happy he is and how he has adapted to his new environment.
